Catherine Quin – Principal, Barrister & Solicitor

Profile

Catherine has strong family connections in Taranaki. She and her husband have two sons still at school here.
Catherine qualified as a Registered General and Obstetric Nurse in 1976 and has worked as a nurse in Palmerston North, Wellington, Dunedin and overseas including Africa. Catherine qualified as a Solicitor from Otago University in 1987. She has worked as a Solicitor since. During this time Catherine established a wide base of Court experience, Wills and Trusts.
Catherine has a particular interest in elder abuse matters and was instrumental in advocating and arranging for the Elder Abuse Service to be established here. She is the Chairperson of the Advisory Panel for the Elder Abuse Service. Catherine acts as voluntary solicitor for the Taranaki Society for the Blind, Taranaki Head Injury Society, Taranaki Brain Injury, Parents of Deaf Children Taranaki and Lantern Trust.
Catherine specialises in all areas of Family Law, Elder Protection, Protection of Personal & Property Rights, Maori Land, Conveyancing and Trusts.

Gordon Wilson – Barrister & Solicitor

Profile

Gordon was appointed Staff Solicitor at QuinLaw in November 2008. Before Gordon embarked on a career in the law he spent 14 years working for two global corporations that operate within Taranaki.
Gordon is specializing in the areas of Family law and Mental Health law with a particular focus on relationship property matters.
Gordon was appointed Associate of QuinLaw in August 2011.

Sandy Dodunski – Barrister & Solicitor

Prior to returning to University to study Law, Sandy spent 13 years as a Nurse before moving to a position in the welfare sector.
These experiences give Sandy the empathy and experience necessary to ably assist and advocate for her clients going through the often difficult Court process.
Sandy has an interest in all areas of Employment, Relationship & Family Issues and Mental Health Law.

Nan Jensen - Barrister & Solicitor

Profile

Nan joined QuinLaw in 2013. In addition to her law degree, Nan has an MBA in Finance and International Business, has worked in banking, the IT industry and in the community sector. She has lived and worked in New York, Copenhagen and Hamilton. She has four children including two sons with special needs and is passionate about meeting the legal needs of people with disabilities and their families. Nan runs workshops about disability law around New Zealand. Nan has been involved in the disability sector since 1998, in governance, advisory, support parent, advocacy and management capacities. She decided to study law after taking a successful case for funding for her son. She is based in Hamilton and Auckland, works part-time in New Plymouth and utilises the expertise of the entire firm to assist clients outside of Taranaki.

Rose Mary Wilson – Registered Legal Executive, NZILE Fellow

Profile

Rose Mary, joined the team at QuinLaw in May 2010. She brings her extensive knowledge in conveyance transactions, refinancing, trusts, wills, estate planning and estate administration. Rose is one of those people that will go the extra mile for her clients and who possesses the ability to explain even the most complex and difficult processes so that it can be easily understood.

Maree Cotter – Legal Executive

Profile

Maree joined QuinLaw in April 2009 with the amalgamation of Trevor Knowsley for whom she had worked for the previous 16 years.
Maree is a Legal Executive who works part-time due to family commitments. She has expertise in the area of Estates, Wills, Trusts and more recently Maori Land. She takes pride in her very warm, sincere and committed attitude to serving her client’s needs.
Maree's worklife began as a shorthand/typist secretary and after a couple of years in the Labour Department in the days of apprenticeships, moved to Shell BP & Todd Oil Services where she was seconded to their in-house solicitor. The New Plymouth office of Watts & Patterson opened to cater for the SBPTOS needs and Maree took on the role of office manager and personal secretary for the next 10 years before starting a family.
